Math: Count the Fridge
Materials: blue math journal, pencil, pencil crayons (red, blue, yellow, green, orange)

Please watch the video as Mrs. Conley gives you a tour of her fridge.  Mrs. Conley fridge tour

Now it's your turn, it's time to count the items in your fridge.  Please count the red, yellow, green, blue, and orange items in your fridge.  How many of each color do you have?  Which color items do you have the most of?  Which color do you have the least of?  What is your favorite color of food to eat?

Extension: Let's add some of the colors together. Please write the math number sentence to go with each color sentence.
1. red + blue =
2. yellow + red =
3. green + blue =
4. orange + red =
5. yellow + green =

If you are looking for an extra challenge try adding all the items you counted up together.  How many items did you count in total?

Challenge:
Bug Art
Materials - Recycled/rock/loose parts bug art

These examples are using egg cartons and rocks. You could use bottle caps, paper or if you don't want to do art you can make loose part bugs.
