Tomorrow is Pajama Day (even for those of us at home - please wear your favorite pajamas to our meet) and Library Day.  If your child is at home, please continue to enjoy their library books over the holidays and return them in January.

Important Information:  As we prepare to transition to online learning for the week of January 5-8, 2021 (January 4th is a PD Day), each child will require a pencil, eraser, coloring tools (crayons, markers, or pencil crayons), scissors, a glue stick and plain paper (this could be a journal or loose sheets of paper is fine).  If you have these items for your child, can you please organize them over the holidays so that your child is ready with their supplies on Jan 5th.  If you do not have access to these items at home, please email your child's teacher and we will make arrangements.  Thank you for your support as we transition to online learning.  More information will be coming this week as to the organization of online learning for Kindergarten.

If you need to use your child's password to log into their educbe account the password is: cat54321

8:45am code: mrsconley please have your child ready for online learning at 8:45am, we will take attendance, share some Christmas songs and enjoy a read aloud together.  This meet will last approx. 15 mins.  Your child does not need to bring anything with them to this meet time each day.

9:15am or 10:00am or 10:45am code: mrsconley  Please have your child join one of the 3 listed meet times.  We learned in the Spring that it is much easier to work with Kindergarten children in small groups online.  Please have your child bring paper, pencil, eraser, and coloring tools (crayons, markers, pencil crayons).  This meet will last 25-30 mins.  If it is your child's show and tell today, please have them bring their item to this meet time. 

Storytime 10:45-11:00am with Mrs. Mask.  For those of you who are home, we will be offering story time each day this week from 10:40-11:00am.  Please join us on a Google Meet using the code: ehsstorytime .  

Today at school we continued to work on further developing our fine motor skills.  We laced a Christmas tree and decorated it.  We worked on patterning today as we made giant candy cane patterns.  Please ask your child to describe their candy cane pattern to you.  Is it an AB pattern, an ABC pattern or something else?  If you are at home, please draw candy canes and create patterns on them.  How many different patterns can you create?

We read, How to Catch a Snowman. We made a snowman for our snowman trap. Then we used construction paper, boxes or building materials to try and trap our snowman.  If you are at home, what can you find around your house to make a snowman trap?

Challenge of the day: 
materials - be creative ... anything you have at home that you can build with!

Build a tower as tall as you are! Feel free to email us a picture of you standing next to the tower you built. We can't wait to see them!

  We learned about patterns. We read the story, "Pattern Fish". Ask your child was is a pattern. Can your child make one at home ? We talked about the number one. What it looks like and where we might find the number.  We practiced printing the number 1 in our blue journals. Today was the first day your child attended music with Mrs. Coulson. What did your child do in music ? The kindergarten children all had gym outside with Mr. Der. What kind of movements did your child practice? PM Kindergarten brought home a library book. Book exchange will be offered to Kindergarten weekly. Please return the book by next Thursday. AM kindergarten will take home a book tomorrow but their regular book exchange will be on Thursday as well. Please take good care of your books when you are at home. This morning was Sports day for the AM kindergarten. We had fun at 7 different stations in the hub and gym. Ask your child about their favourite station. PM kindergarten will have sports day tomorrow. They can wear "rainbow " colours.  We read the story, The Night Before First Grade and talked about how we are feeling about going into Grade 1 and what we are excited most about. We drew pictures in our visual journals. Ask your child how they are feeling and what they are most looking forward to. We watched parts of the EHS talent show. We are amazed by all the talents of the students in the school! We played cooperative games and had centers. AM kindergarten brought all of the school items home today. PM children will bring all their items home on Friday. Monday is the last day of school for our Kindergarten students. AM and PM kindergarten will have their regular school hours.
