Tuesday December 15
Important Information: As we prepare to transition to online learning for the week of January 5-8, 2021 (January 4th is a PD Day), each child will require a pencil, eraser, coloring tools (crayons, markers, or pencil crayons), scissors, a glue stick and plain paper (this could be a journal or loose sheets of paper is fine). If you have these items for your child, can you please organize them over the holidays so that your child is ready with their supplies on Jan 5th. If you do not have access to these items at home, please email your child's teacher and we will make arrangements. Thank you for your support as we transition to online learning. More information will be coming this week as to the organization of online learning for Kindergarten.

We read, How to Catch a Snowman and talked about the steps we use to make a snowman. We acted out how to build a snowman and wrote out the steps using pictures and words.
We used the words: First, Next, Last to describe the steps. See if you can use words and pictures at home to show the steps to make a snowman.
We will be using this story today and tomorrow as we are going to be making traps in class to "catch" a snowman.
We had a visit from Hope the bunny today. If you are at home, we will have Hope come visit with us again :)
Literacy: Letter Scavenger Hunt
At school we have worked on the letters B, D, P, B, and R. Please have your child go on a scavenger hunt around the house to see if they can find items that start with each of these letters. Please have your child practice the sounds these letters make.
Math - How many items will fit into the shoebox?
Find a shoebox at home. Is the shoebox large or small? Estimate: How many large items will fit into the shoebox? Fill and count.
For an extension find 2 shoeboxes. Guess which one will hold more items. Fill both boxes and see if your prediction was right. Which box held more? Which held less?
