Tuesday April 20

We started our day with writing in our journals. We are getting really good at using the word wall and sounding out beginning sounds to help us write. 

We read, As the Crow Flies: A First Book of Maps and talked about a special place in our house. We then drew a map to a special place in our house. We tried to make sure we added many details in our map. What space did your child choose to draw and why?

We had music and gym. 

Friday is AM kindergarten. 

Monday April 26 is a Professional Development Day. There is NO school for students.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
