Tuesday February 2

Today was a fabulous day at school!  Thank you to everyone who dressed like penguins!  It was such a fun morning.  Thank you to Allison from the Calgary Zoo for a very informative and enjoyable presentation about penguins.  Please ask your child some of the interesting facts they learned about the penguins at the Zoo.

We worked in our personal journals today.  We are spending time drawing and writing about things that are important to us.  We are so pleased to see children who are labelling the beginning sounds they hear in words, copying print and trying to sound out words/sentences.

We had gym with Mr. Der and played the bean bag game.  We spent most of our gym time running back and forth across the gym and boy were we tired!

Please bring winter gear for tomorrow: snow pants, hats and mittens as gym class will be outside. Thank you !

 Get outside and be active! 

Wednesday, February 3 is this year’s Winter Walk Day.  The goal is to get more Albertans physically active outdoors during the winter.  Just because it is cold outside, it does not mean we can’t be active outdoors.  Most of us already doing this; February 3 is a great time to celebrate it.  It may be as simple as walking to and from school, playing in the snow, taking a walk after dinner, going bird watching, or any of the countless activities we are fortunate to be able to do during the winter.
