Tomorrow is AM Kindergarten Friday.  The AM children will be painting tomorrow.  Please do not wear your best clothes to school ... painting can be messy!

Today we talked about Superheroes and how superheroes are unique just like each one of us is unique.  We read the story What's My Superpower. We drew pictures in our journal of what we would look like if we were superheroes.








We had music with Mrs. Coulson.  Please ask your child what they did in the music room.

The AM children had their first fire drill practice today.  Please ask your child what we do in a fire drill.  We stayed outside to play after the fire drill.  The PM children went to the playground with Mr. Der.

Families Helping Families

As is our tradition at Eric Harvie School, again this year we are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support a family in need at Christmas. This year, we will be supporting 10 families at Colonel Fred J. Scott School who may need a little extra help to make Christmas brighter. While in past years we asked for specific gift donations for individual family members, due to the pandemic, this year will look different.

This year we are asking for monetary donations. These donations will purchase a variety of gift cards (eg. Walmart, Superstore, Safeway) and small stocking stuffers gifted to each member of the 10 families in a stocking. Parent Council has generously offered their support by collecting the money via direct deposit and helping purchase the gifts.

Donations can be made via at ehsestreasurer@gmail.com (No password required.) and are welcomed on or before Monday November 30, 2020.

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, all staff at Eric Harvie School would like to thank families in advance for their contributions and making a family’s Christmas a little brighter!! Thank you also to our Parent Council for their support with this peace initiative.

1) Families Helping Families - last day for donations is Monday, Nov. 30/20 - thank you so much to all the families who have already sent in their generous donations. If you would like to donate to support the family in need being sponsored by your class, please note:

3) We are still looking for donations of excess Christmas lights - any colours - to the school. Thanks to families who have already dropped lights in the bins by the front door of the school - we will continue to take donated lights until Thursday, Dec. 3/20

Monday September 21

Today is Picture Day at school!  We love seeing everyone dressed in their finest with their bright smiles. We continued to talk about our families and drew a picture with sharpie of the people who live in our house.  We read the story "We Belong Together" by Todd Parr.  We also had a chance to explore our new Fall loose part bags.  Please ask your child what was in the bag and what stories they were able to tell. We had music with Mrs. Coulson.  Please ask your child what they did in the music room. Please note: library book exchange will happen on Wednesday this week as there is no school on Thursday.  Please send your child's book to school with them Wednesday if they would like to get a new book. If you have not booked a time slot for your virtual parent teacher conference, please do so as soon as possible.  Thanks! There is no school Thursday September 24 (virtual parent teacher conferences) and Friday September 25 (professional day).
