Please welcome our 2 student teachers, Olivia Felstrom-Oickle and Samantha Norlin from Mount Royal University.  Ms. Felstrom-Oickle and Ms. Norlin are both in the 3rd year of their education program.  They will be working with us in Kindergarten until December 4th.

The student led art walk has been posted in the windows of the school.  Your child's work will be on display until Monday November 9th.  Please take some time to stop by the outside of the school and check out the work in the windows. Their work is mixed all along the windows. Both AM and PM.  You will find the Kindergarten work in the windows at the front of the school by the main office and in the windows along the parking lot close to the 5W door.  Please note: there is no art displayed in the Kindergarten windows due to the construction in the field.

Thank you to everyone who practiced the "Poppy Poppy" poem at home.  We videoed ourselves today and it looked great!  Please stay tuned for more info as to how to virtually watch the EHS Remembrance Day assembly as we get closer to the date.

Tomorrow, Tuesday November 3rd we will be walking to Teepee Forest.  Please ensure your child has good/comfortable walking shoes on.  We will be outside most the morning/afternoon, so please make sure your child is dressed for the weather.

Today we talked about prediction. We read the story, "Goldilocks and Just One Bear." The children had to predict how the story was going to end. Ask your child what their prediction was and how the story really ended. Read a story to your child tonight and see if they can predict the ending. 

We had music. What did your child learn today?

We had gym with Mr. Der.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
