We read the story, "Pattern Bugs". We are talking about the core of the pattern. What does that mean? 

We made our own pattern stick out of beads. What pattern did your child make? Can you make 3 patterns with items around your house. 

We had library exchange.   Please note:  it is possible this week that your child ended up with 2 library books.  We have a new library assistant helping out temporarily at the school and not all books were checked in today prior to new books being signed out.  If your child ended up with 2 library books, please enjoy both books this week and return both books next Wednesday/Thursday.

We had music with Mrs. Coulson. What did we learn in music?

We had gym outside with Mr. Der. We are working on our passing skills. Can you play a game of pass at home?

Photos went home with PM kindergarten today. AM kindergarten will receive their picture order forms tomorrow. The orders are due by October 9th. Thank you. 

Tomorrow is AM kindergarten. We are asking the children to bring a small ziplock bag of leaves with them on Friday for a project. Please collect fresh leaves, we are using them in an art project and the crunchy leaves won't glue. Thank you! :)

Bring you ‘toonies for Terry’ and drop them off at your school entrance door every morning during the week.  Eric Harvie School raised over 4000.00 last year and even more in previous years.  Let’s reach for that again this year!

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
