Friday October 2

Today was the Terry Fox Run. We read the story, "Terry Fox and Me." Ask your child who Terry Fox is and why he is so special. 

Please ask your child how many laps they were able to run/walk.  Thank you to parent council for providing a snack for us all to enjoy after the run.   The PM class will do the Terry Fox Run on Monday October 5.  Thank you to everyone who donated toonies for Terry.

Thank you to everyone who sent leaves to school.  We used the leaves to make a leaf lantern.  We spent time sorting and comparing leaves.  Please ask your child to describe how we can sort objects.

We had centers today.  Please ask your child what center they played at.

AM kindergarten received their picture order forms. The orders are due by October 9th. Thank you. 

Have a great weekend!  We hope everyone has a chance to get outside and enjoy the lovely Fall weather!

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
