Wednesday September 9

Today we used our loose parts to build pictures of ourselves. We read the story, "I'm Me!" and talked about what makes each of us special. We drew a picture of ourselves in our visual journals.

We looked at our favourite colour graph from yesterday and talked about what we noticed.

We had gym outside with Mr. Der.  Please ask your child what they worked on in gym.

We had centers today!  It was fun to use our imagination as we played with the toys.

Today or tomorrow you will receive a brown envelop with important school information. Please look over all of the forms and return as soon possible. Thank you

This Friday is an AM kindergarten morning.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
