Tuesday September 8

 Today was a great day at school!  We were very excited to get our own pencil boxes full of supplies!  We worked hard to decorate a name card to label our supply bin with.  It is very exciting to have our own supplies that we will need to take care of and be responsible for at school.  

We used loose parts to make faces and people.  It is great fine motor practice for our fingers to practice manipulating small objects.

We were excited to meet Mr. Der (our gym teacher) today.  We went outside with him for gym.  In gym we worked on staying in our own space and movement patterns.

Please remember Friday is AM Kindergarten.  

Thank you to everyone for having patience with us as we stagger the kindergarten students in and out of the building.  We appreciate your support!

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
