 We are learning all about insects. We watched a video All About Insects to find out what all insects have in common. Ask your child what they learned. 

We voted about which insects we wanted to learn more about. We will be looking more closely at ladybugs, bees, butterflies and worms. 

Today we started our research to learn about ladybugs. We read some stories and watched a video about ladybugs and recorded the facts we found about ladybugs.

We continued to practice counting on and adding groups together. We played addition game with a dice and a deck of cards. You place the deck facing downwards and flip over the top card then roll the dice. Add the dice and the card together. If you add the sum correctly you keep the card and if you miscount place the card on the bottom. We practiced the skill of counting on from the biggest number. Try playing at home. 

We had music with Mrs. Coulson.

Friday is PM kindergarten. 

Spirit Days are back and closing out the 2021 school year.  We want to have some extra fun these last three weeks and spirit days are just the start.

 

Every Wednesday there will be a new theme starting this Wednesday, June 9, with

Country and Western!! The following Wednesday, June 16th, is Wacky Wednesday and the last Wednesday, June 23rd, will be Beach day (no bathing suits please).

 

We will also be hosting a virtual talent show in the last week of school so if you have talent submit a video.  We ask that videos not be longer than a minute, if they are I will be editing them shorter.  A talent can be anything that you are great at so dig deep! Of course this is totally optional but if you would like a chance to showcase what you can do please submit a video to https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1hMdt38EKYBqxckjzuXbljB3FTczpRVx9?usp=sharing NO LATER THAN… Wednesday June 16th.  Please be aware that this is a google drive folder and anyone with the link can view.  Please just upload your video there, making sure it’s appropriate, and leave the rest to us!  Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
