Wednesday May 5

We started our day with learning about letter S and the sound it makes. Listen to Jolly Phonics Letter S.We made the letter S into a snake. Can you find items at home that begin with S? Practice printing the letter s.

AM Kindergarten

We went to Teepee forest and had our class in the wooded area. We first went and explored our surroundings with magnifying glasses looking for signs of Spring.

We then read, A Stone Sat Still . Ask your child about what happened to the stone. We used our imagination to go and find items in nature.

If you are at home today, listen to the story and draw a picture from the story. Can you tell me what the stone would be like for an animal or insect of your choice. Label your drawing with beginning sounds.

We looked for:

A rock a mouse could carry

A mountain for a ladybug

Something a bird would eat

Something brown and bumpy

Something an animal would make it's home in

We then were challenged to find 5 items and order them from shortest to tallest.

PM Kindergarten

We read the story, Fletcher and the Springtime Blossoms and did a guided drawing of a fox. We added the details from the story to our fox drawings. Ask your child what happened in the story.

Friday is AM kindergarten. It will also be the first day of online learning. We will use our blog as our primary tool to communicate with parents, provide a daily schedule of our online learning and post other activities you can have your child complete at home. More information will follow in the next few days.
