                   Today is PJ Day! Wear your pyjamas and bring your stuffy to the google meet. 


Each morning and afternoon, you are invited to participate in the choice board activities from 8:30 am-9:00 am or 2:25pm-3:05pm.  Please see your email for choice board activities and details.

Math: Nature Sink and Float
Materials: tub of water, items found in nature (rock, stick, leaves, pinecone, etc...)

Gather natural items.  Test each object one by one.  Predict before you put it in the water.  Will it sink or will it float?  Why do objects sink?  Why do objects float?  What happens if you stack objects one on top of the other, will they sink or float?

Challenge of the Day
Materials - anything that you have that you have multiple of (ie. utensils, books, socks, toys, etc)

Can you make a pattern? Can you build an AB pattern (2 elements)? How about an ABC pattern (3 elements)? Try a challenging pattern such as AAB or AABBCC? Be creative about what you use to make patterns with!

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day. We used q-tips and paint to paint dots on the letter D.
