Please accept our apologies for not posting a blog yesterday - our internet was not working.  

On Monday we were supposed to have a virtual visit with Dr. Karen Raymer from Tuscany Dental Center but unfortunately with our internet not working the virtual visit did not happen.  She sent all the Kindergarten children a dental goodie bag and we talked about the importance of oral hygiene and making sure we are brushing and flossing our teeth daily. Please check your child's backpack and talk about the information that was included in the bag.

Today we worked on a Mother's Day project for our very special mom's!  Sorry no photos today ... no sneak peeks!

Friday is AM kindergarten. 


Hats On! for Mental Health Day

On the first Wednesday in May, Albertans are invited to wear a hat to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health. Participating schools will relax their hat rules and encourage students and teachers to build understanding by wearing hats to school.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day. We used q-tips and paint to paint dots on the letter D.
