Please have your child ready with paper, pencil, colors, glue and scissors for school each day.  If your child has access to colored paper at home, please have that available for them to use this week.

We have posted the blog for each day this week, so that you can be aware of the schedule.  We tried our best to maintain a similar schedule, with the exception of the special "Just Like Me" presentations this week.  Please do check the blog each day prior to school, in the event times have changed.

Each day your child will participate in a hands on literacy activity with their teacher. On the blog you will find additional optional math and challenge of the day activities. 


Each morning and afternoon, you are invited to participate in the choice board activities from 8:30 am-9:00 am or 2:25pm-3:05pm.  Please see photo for google meets and details.

Math: Measurement

Choose an item in your house to use as a tool of measurement such as counters, coins, pompoms, blocks etc. You will use the item to go around your house and measure different items. Make an estimate how many you will use, then measure using your counter the correct amount. You can measure the length and height of your items. 

Write on a piece of paper: Estimate and Measurement and create a line down the middle. You will take a guess(estimate) before you measure an items and then write the actual number in the measurement column.

Challenge of the Day: "Laundry Art"

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
