Wednesday April 7
Today was a great day. We started the morning with practicing printing the letter C. We made the letter C into a carrot. Listen to Jolly Phonics Letter C Song. Can you find items at home that start with the letter C?
We learned about Farmers and added a tear art of Alberta to our Community Flip Books. What is a farmer's role in our community?
We also began our measurement unit in Math by going on a mission to find objects outdoors that were longer or shorter than a popsicle stick. Mrs. Conley's class looked in their pencil boxes to find 3 items. We then arranged the items from longest to shortest and drew a picture of the items in our journals.
We had gym. Ask your child what they did.
Picture Day is on Thursday. Bring your best smile :)
Friday is AM kindergarten.
A message from Mrs. Coulson
Some of the EHS students have been working hard creating plays. As this work has progressed they have shown interest in carrying these plays forward to something that they can perform and perhaps film. They have been working on set, props and costume design and are hopeful that they can create these themselves. If you have any of the following to donate we would really appreciate it. There will be a cart outside the front of the school at pick up and drop off times for any donations, you may also send them with your student to give to me.
Here are some ideas:
Fabric
Wings
Wire coat hangers
Elastic
Headbands
Barrettes
Safety Pins
Thread
Costume Pieces
Here are the plays in case they help inspire somethings you may not have thought of:
- Stone Slop (Monster version of Stone Soup)
- Aladdin and the Magic Pickle Jar (Pixie, Aladdin, Goes from North Pole to Airport)
- June Bug and the Flea (Every sort of bug)
- The Prince Frog (Speaks for itself)
- Queen Midas (Queen and ladies in waiting, Magician, Photographer, Soccer players)
- Jack and the Giant Sunflower
- Claynocchio (Gingerbread person, Clay figure)
- Clinky Planky Tenbo (D.J., Teacher, animals)
- Three Silly Goats Gruff (Lady Bug, Goats)
- The Elves and the Young Stu Baker
Thank you for your support,
Jennele Coulson
