Wednesday April 21

Today we learned about the letter Q. We talked about what sound it makes and printed the letter Q. We made the letter Q into a quilt. Listen to :Jolly Phonics Letter Q. 

We continued to learn about our community. We are creating our very own Tuscany community in our class and started by creating our house out of paper bags.  We will be adding to our community for the next few days. We will be using it as a play center in our class. 

We read the story, "How Big is a Foot?" We talked about tall and short and talked about how we measure items. We did a measurement activity where we traced our foot. We then measured our foot with cubes to measure the length.

Friday is AM kindergarten. 

Monday April 26 is a Professional Development Day. There is NO school for students.

Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
