We started our morning with writing in our journals. We continue to work on adding details to our drawings and adding many colours. We are practicing using the word wall to help us and write down the sounds we hear when writing an unfamiliar word. 

We learned about fire safety, practiced Stop, Drop, and Roll and watched an online tour of the Fire Station.Virtual Fire Station Tour. Does your family have a Fire Escape Plan? Are your smoke detectors working properly?

We did a guided drawing of the Tuscany Fire Station in our visual journals. 

In Math, we made wiggly worms and ordered them from shortest to longest. Can you find items at home to order from shortest to longest?

In Gym, we continued practicing important balance skills with Balance Tag and Line Tag. 

Friday is a PM Kindergarten day.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
