Monday April 19

We read, Me On The Map and talked about what the purpose of a map is and why we use them. We looked at a map of our classroom and talked about where we find items in the class. We used the map to find bears hidden in the class. We used the maps to put our names on the map and then took turns reading the map to go to the spot where our name was.  We also looked at Google Earth and had a closer look at our country, our province, our city, our community and our school.

In Math, we compared the length of our names to our classmates names using words shorter, longer and the same.

We had gym and we played at centers.

Home reading is coming home today. Make sure to find time to read every day :)

We are looking for some empty cracker and/or cereal boxes to use in a community building project for this week. We are looking for about 7 boxes per class.
