Monday April 12

Today was a very exciting day at school.  Constable Kevin, our school community resource officer visited Kindergarten.  We were very excited to learn about police officers and their role in our community.  Please ask your child what they learned from the presentation.  

We learned about 911 and the reasons why we would need to call 911. 

We had music with Mrs. Coulson. What did your child learn about today?

Mrs. Molyneux taught us some new games in gym. What games did we play today?

Home reading went home. Please make sure to find time to read each day :)

We are also welcoming 3 new students to our afternoon kindergarten this week! We are very excited to have new friends join our class. 

Friday is PM Kindergarten.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day. We used q-tips and paint to paint dots on the letter D.
