It was a busy day! Our knowledge of shapes continues to grow, and we played a game to help us recall how many sides each shape has. 

We were excited to explore our new Spring items in our loose parts bags!  It was fun to listen to all the stories being told as children explored the new items in their bags.

We also began talking about the people, places, and activities that make up communities. 

Today Mrs. Card visited with the library cart and we had music with Mrs. Coulson. 

We continued working on our gymnastic skills through the obstacle course in gym. 

Please send in old magazines for a collage we will be working on next week as part of our community study. We're hoping for pictures of prairies, mountains, and rivers or anything that can be connected to Alberta. 

Tomorrow AM kindergarten will be going on a community walk. Please pack an easy snack to eat outside. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
