Today was a great day at school.  We all played Kaboom. It is an alphabet game that helps us learn the letters. Each player takes a turn and draws a stick. If you can read the letter on the stick, you get to keep the stick, if you don't know the letter the other players can tell you what the letter is and then you place it back in the cup. If you draw a kaboom stick you have to put all the sticks back into the cup. 

We continue to explore 2D shapes and played the robot shape game today.  We had to identify shapes with 0, 3, 4, and 5 sides.  

We had music with Mrs. Coulson and gym outside.

We are learning about our community. We worked in groups and drew pictures about what activities we like to do in our community and then shared with our class. 

We started our community flip books and worked on the "ME" page.  We drew pictures of ourselves.  We are just starting to look at ourselves and our community.

PM Kindergarten played a get to know you game. 

Wednesday is dress like an animal day at school.  We look forward to seeing what animals arrive at school on Wednesday.

Friday is an AM Friday.

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
