We changed table groups. Who is your child sitting with this month?

We talked about what makes us unique. We watched I Like Myself and drew a picture about a special quality each student possess. The children wrote, "I am _____". 

We looked at cubes. We described what they looked like and then built them with toothpicks and play dough. 

We changed our home reading today and most of us got prizes. Keep up the hard work of reading at home. We are so proud of you all. 

We had music and gym. 

Friday is PM kindergarten. 

Spirit Days are back for the month of March. We had so much fun in December that we have decided to do it again! Spirit Days will be every Wednesday in March with different themes. We look forward to see what you come up with.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day. We used q-tips and paint to paint dots on the letter D.
