We started our morning with our loose part bags. What did your child create with their loose parts? What kind of story can you share about your creation. 

Oh, the places we went! Our Kindergarten class had fun exploring the community today. We went on a kindness community walk. We are learning about community and we wanted to explore in our community to see what we noticed. Along the way we stopped and wrote messages of kindness in chalk for people in our community to enjoy. Ask your child what they found in our community. How did your child spread kindness? 

We continued to work in our community booklets. We are talking about people, places and activities we will find in our community. 

After our long walk, they still mustered the energy for a challenging obstacle course in the gym where they rolled, ran, climbed, and balanced! We ended our day with centres and a story.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day. We used q-tips and paint to paint dots on the letter D.
