Wednesday February 3

Today we practiced writing the letter K and painted kites out of the letter K. Ask your child what sound K makes. 

We read a story about penguins and looked at some pictures of penguin artifacts from our virtual field trip. We talked about penguin facts we learned and chose a fact to write for our penguin information booklet. 

We went outside and played in the field for Winter Walk day.

We had centers. What center did your child play at today?

We played math games to practice our counting skills. 

Friday is AM kindergarten. 

If you have any clean clear glass jars (jam, pickle, sauces etc.) could you please send one with your child to school. We are looking for a total of 15 jars for a science experiment the week of February 8th. Thank you :)

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
