Friday January 15

Today we started the morning playing cooperative games and puzzles. We are practicing turn taking and sharing.

We had a special visitor in the class, a penguin (stuffed of course ;) ) We watched a video about penguins. We talked about what we know about penguins and what we wonder.

We read the story Penguins, Penguins, Everywhere! and drew a picture about something penguins can do.

We created a penguin out of construction paper.

We played how many bears are hiding.  The children played in pairs. They counted out 10 bears. Their partner would close their eyes as they places some bears under a cup. Their partner would then open their eyes and have to figure out how many bears were hiding under the cup.  Try practicing this game at home.

We went outside and played at the park.

Eric Harvie's next Peace Assembly is about feeling peaceful within ourselves.  We have been talking about finding a place where we feel good.  I am hoping to get a few pictures to add to our Peace Assembly.  Please note that if you send a picture it will be in the video attached to our school Youtube page.  What I am looking for: your child in a place that makes them feel good, feel at peace. It does not have to be a recent picture, it can be one from the past.  If you would like to participate, please email your photo to Jennele Coulson at jabaine@cbe.ab.ca.

Thank you!

Jennele Coulson
