Tuesday December 8

We started the day by making roads for the letter R. We practiced writing the letter R. 




We read, The Color Monster and talked about emotions. Ask your child what happens in the story.

We looked at picture cards of emotions had talked about how the children in the cards were feeling and how we know they are feeling that emotion. We acted out emotions and talked about what it looks and feels like when we are going through that emotion.

We went outside for math today and practiced writing numbers with chalk. We learned to play hopscotch and make our own boards. Try making your own hopscotch at home. 

We had centers and played outside at the playground.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day. We used q-tips and paint to paint dots on the letter D.
