Mrs. Conley's class made name snowman for their arrival centers. The children wrote the letters of their name on each ball of the snowmen. 



Mrs. Mask's class worked on their math and literacy arrival centers. We have a new one each day. Which one did your child work at today?

We read, I'm Not Scared by Todd Parr. We did a guided drawing lesson and learned how to draw like Todd Parr.  We drew ourselves as a superhero. We used our sharpies to draw and water colors to paint our superheroes. We talked about what we are good at, things we like and what makes us happy. We can't wait to show you our finished creation.














We played math games.  We are working on recognizing the numbers and making sets of the numbers from 1-10.

We had centers and gym . We are learning basketball skills in gym class. 

We have have a special guest in our classroom all the way from the North Pole. He is a kindness elf and he will be leaving notes and ideas for us on how to spread kindness to others :) Our job today was to give him a name to activate his magic.  We choose names and then picked out of a bucket. Let us introduce you to

We are so excited to see what you come up with! Let’s Light Up our Hearts this December!  


On Thursday, Dec. 3rd (which is also crazy sweater day) the kindergartens will be filming their music videos for Light Up Your Hearts.  We are very excited. 

 

If you have not signed the CBE use of student information form OR sent Mrs. Coulson an email with consent to have your student filmed for this project and you would like your student to participate please send an email to jabaine@cbe.ab.ca.


PM kindergarten - if you have Santa hats please wear them!

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
