Thursday December 10

Today was crazy hat day at school!  We were very excited to see everyones fun hats!



















Today we read the story Hello Snow and talked about all the fun things we can do in the winter.  We did a response to the book where we are practicing labeling our pictures with the first sounds we hear in words.  Some us even tried to write our own sentence to fill in "I Like ..."

We also continued to talk about our feelings and today talked about feelings in the "green" zone.  This can include happy, calm, feeling ok, ready to learn and focussed.

We had fun snack, music, library book exchange and gym today!  It was a busy day!

We are sending home a card with your child's email address on it. Please check their backpacks and keep this email address as we will be using it in the near future. Thank you :)

Tomorrow is PM Kindergarten.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
