Tomorrow is library day.  Please send your child's library book back to school. 

Today we read The Feelings Book by Todd Parr.  We talked about our feelings and what colours can be associated with each feeling.  Please ask your child what colour goes with their feelings.

We also read The Family Book by Todd Parr.  We participating in a sharing circle where we each had a turn to share about our families and our family traditions.  Please have a discussion with your child about what traditions are important to your family.

We had centers today.  We have some new centers to play with and explore.  Please ask your child what center they were at today.







Families Helping Families

As is our tradition at Eric Harvie School, again this year we are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support a family in need at Christmas. This year, we will be supporting 10 families at Colonel Fred J. Scott School who may need a little extra help to make Christmas brighter. While in past years we asked for specific gift donations for individual family members, due to the pandemic, this year will look different.

This year we are asking for monetary donations. These donations will purchase a variety of gift cards (eg. Walmart, Superstore, Safeway) and small stocking stuffers gifted to each member of the 10 families in a stocking. Parent Council has generously offered their support by collecting the money via direct deposit and helping purchase the gifts.

Donations can be made via at ehsestreasurer@gmail.com (No password required.) and are welcomed on or before Monday November 30, 2020.

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, all staff at Eric Harvie School would like to thank families in advance for their contributions and making a family’s Christmas a little brighter!! Thank you also to our Parent Council for their support with this peace initiative.

Monday September 21

Today is Picture Day at school!  We love seeing everyone dressed in their finest with their bright smiles. We continued to talk about our families and drew a picture with sharpie of the people who live in our house.  We read the story "We Belong Together" by Todd Parr.  We also had a chance to explore our new Fall loose part bags.  Please ask your child what was in the bag and what stories they were able to tell. We had music with Mrs. Coulson.  Please ask your child what they did in the music room. Please note: library book exchange will happen on Wednesday this week as there is no school on Thursday.  Please send your child's book to school with them Wednesday if they would like to get a new book. If you have not booked a time slot for your virtual parent teacher conference, please do so as soon as possible.  Thanks! There is no school Thursday September 24 (virtual parent teacher conferences) and Friday September 25 (professional day).
