Today was a busy science day in Kindergarten!  We did the walking water experiment.  Please ask your child how the blue and yellow water moved and once it moved, what color is in the middle cup?  Mrs. Conley's class had the chance to mix colors using colored water, spoons and paper towels.  We had fun mixing colors.  Mrs. Mask's class made color wheels.  We all had fun with the Skittle science experiment too!  Please ask your child what happened when we poured warm water on the Skittles.

We continued working with Todd Parr books and worked on our likes/dislikes.  We drew pictures in our journal about something we like and something we do not like.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day. We used q-tips and paint to paint dots on the letter D.
