Today we had library, music and gym.  Please ask your child what they did in music and gym today. 

We continued to work on the letter F.  We practiced printing the letter F and then we used feathers to paint the letter F.  Can your child find words at home that start with the letter F?

We learned a new math game using power of ten cards (ten frames) You can play this game at home with cards as well. You divide the cards in half (cards1-10) and each player flips the first card in their pile over at the same time. Each player must say the number they have out loud. The player with the higher number takes the cards and places them in a pile off to the side. The player must state" ___ is higher than___" If the players have the same number, they will flip another card over and the player with the higher number takes the cards. You continue to play until one player loses all of their cards.

Extension :  Each player flips two cards at once and adds them together. 

The student led art walk has been posted in the windows of the school.  Your child's work will be on display until Monday November 9th.  Please take some time to stop by the outside of the school and check out the work in the windows. Their work is mixed all along the windows. Both AM and PM.  You will find the Kindergarten work in the windows at the front of the school by the main office and in the windows along the parking lot close to the 5W door.  Please note: there is no art displayed in the Kindergarten windows due to the construction in the field.





















Jacket Racket 2020

We need your help!  We are currently collecting winter wear for Jacket Racket as we have for the past 4 years.  Due to Covid restrictions, we ask that you drop off new or gently used items in the collection bins outside the front door of the school.  Jacket Racket will accept coats, hats, mittens/gloves, boots, etc. in children's and adult sizes.  Please ensure the items are cleaned and in good condition.

Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
