Monday November 9

Today we learned about primary and secondary colors with Ms. Felstrom & Ms. Norlin.  We had the chance to explore with paint to learn about mixing colors.  Please ask your child what happens when you mix blue & red, red & yellow and blue & yellow.  It was very exciting for us to see how to make new colors! 






This week we are going to focus on the letter E.  Please help your child to look around your house to find things that start with the letter E.  We read the story Elmer the Elephant.  We learned the E Song, please listen and practice the sound the letter E makes at home.

We had math and did a number talk about the number 6.  We looked at a dice to see that pattern that the dots make to form the number six.  Please consider playing board games at home that use dice.  It is good practice for Kindergarten students to recognize the number of dots on a dice, without having to count the dots.

Jacket Racket 2020

We need your help!  We are currently collecting winter wear for Jacket Racket as we have for the past 4 years.  Due to Covid restrictions, we ask that you drop off new or gently used items in the collection bins outside the front door of the school.  Jacket Racket will accept coats, hats, mittens/gloves, boots, etc. in children's and adult sizes.  Please ensure the items are cleaned and in good condition.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
