Friday November 27

Today was a super fun day at school!  We read the story Frosty the Snowman and Snowman At Night. We discussed what would happen if snowmen came to life at night. What would they do?

We then made some snowman art.  First we divided our paper into 4 boxes and then we painted each box a different colour.  Then built a snowman out of circles and used construction paper to decorate the snowman.

We practiced the letter P today.  Please have your child look for things that start with P at home and practice the sound P makes.  We turned the letter P into Pete the Cat.  Please enjoy Pete the Cat Saves Christmas .  We play P charades where we took turns acting out words that start with the letter P.

We had centers. Where did your child play today?

We took advantage of the beautiful weather and went outside to play.

Please check out the music blog to practice our songs for the winter assembly : Winter Songs

Families Helping Families

As is our tradition at Eric Harvie School, again this year we are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support a family in need at Christmas. This year, we will be supporting 10 families at Colonel Fred J. Scott School who may need a little extra help to make Christmas brighter. While in past years we asked for specific gift donations for individual family members, due to the pandemic, this year will look different.

This year we are asking for monetary donations. These donations will purchase a variety of gift cards (eg. Walmart, Superstore, Safeway) and small stocking stuffers gifted to each member of the 10 families in a stocking. Parent Council has generously offered their support by collecting the money via direct deposit and helping purchase the gifts.

Donations can be made via at ehsestreasurer@gmail.com (No password required.) and are welcomed on or before Monday November 30, 2020.

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, all staff at Eric Harvie School would like to thank families in advance for their contributions and making a family’s Christmas a little brighter!! Thank you also to our Parent Council for their support with this peace initiative.
