Wednesday October 7

Today we will be looking closely at our leaf collection and Fall Sundaes from yesterday.  We sorted what we collected in our Fall sundaes.  Please ask your child what they collected for their fall sundae and ask them to share their sorting rules.

After we sorted, we used magnifying glasses to look closely at the leaves.  We practiced drawing leaves (using the lines we talked about on Monday) on whiteboards and then we drew leaves in our journal.  We were excited to use the watercolor paints to paint our leaves.

















Please remember that library day is tomorrow - please send your child's book (or books if they ended up with 2 last week!) back to school.

Math - This week at school in math we will focus on sorting.  Please enjoy these activities at home with your child. 

Sort the Street

Find as many different ways to sort them into groups as you can.  What sorting rules did you use?

Sorting Laundry: 
Materials - laundry or whatever you have at home that can be sorted

Sort laundry by colour, size, type of clothing (ex. shirts) or another way. Find other things at home that you can sort.  Ask your child to describe their sorting rules.
