Wednesday October 14

Today at school we learned about Mat Man.  Mat Man  Mat man helps children learn how to draw a person and develop body awareness.  We used our white boards and markers to practice drawing Mat Man.  Once we were confident with drawing, we pulled out our sharpies.  We used our sharpies to draw a self portrait of ourselves, using the skills we learned from Mat Man.  

We painted a Fall background today.  We wanted to try and make sure there was no white showing on the paper!  We had fun painting lines.  Please ask your child what lines and colors they used.  We are going to use our self portrait and backgrounds for a project that we are excited to share with you in the coming weeks.

Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your child's book.

Please send your child with a pair of indoor shoes (comfortable shoes to participate in gym activities) in their backpack each day.  With the weather turning wet and snowy, we will need to start taking our outdoor shoes off when we enter the building.  Students will be carrying their indoor shoes to and from school each day in their backpacks.  Please make sure that your child's indoor shoes are labelled with their name.  Please send velcro shoes until your child is able to do laces independently.  

For Thursday, we are asking each child to bring a unique item found in nature. For example, a heart shaped rock, an interesting shaped stick, a flower, old birds nest. etc We will be using it to create a nature museum in the class. Thank you.
