Tuesday October 20

Today we read the story "Fletcher and the Falling Leaves."  Fletcher and the Falling Leaves.  In our journals we drew a tree.  Once we drew the tree, we painted the tree brown with water color paint.  We used construction paper to make leaves.  Instead of using scissors to cut leaves, we used our fingers to tear paper to make the leaves.  Tearing paper is great practice to help improve our fine motor skills.







The AM class were very excited to listen to stories read by Mr Strand.  Please ask your child what stories they heard.

PM Kindergarten will be outside tomorrow afternoon.  Please send your child with snow pants, gloves/mitts and boots.  We will be outside for 30 mins.

Thursday October 22 Photo Retake Day

Friday, Oct 23 AM Classes Attends & PM Classes Attends - you might wonder why both classes are attending at the same time? This date was originally scheduled as a field trip for the whole school to Glenbow Ranch.  Due to Covid protocols we are no longer allowed to go on field trips.  We look forward to having both AM/PM kiddos at school together on Friday.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
