We read, "Nature Spy".  Nature Spy

Our class pretended we were nature spies and looked at all of our nature items. We talked about using descriptive words to describe our items.  We used the magnifying glasses to look closely at our object.  Then is was time for us to try and draw our object.  We have been working hard on our fine motor skills since school started and our drawings are getting very good.  We used the watercolor paints to paint the object we looked closely at.






We had music and gym today.  Please ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der.

With the snowy weather here, please remember to send indoor shoes with your child each day.  Indoor shoes are not able to be stored at school.  Your child will carry them to and from school in their backpack each day.


PM Kindergarten

Today we started our day by using math centers. We played a variety of dice and domino counting games. We read the story, "WonderFall" and talked about the seasonal changes and our favourite part of Fall. We drew pictures in our journals. We practiced using our 5 star drawings and also learned about labelling our pictures with letter sounds . 

We read a story about whole body listening and practiced what it looks like and sounds like when we are whole body listening. We also learned about listening with our brains and hearts. Ask your child what it means to whole body listen.

Friday, Oct 23 AM Classes Attends & PM Classes Attends - you might wonder why both classes are attending at the same time? This date was originally scheduled as a field trip for the whole school to Glenbow Ranch.  Due to Covid protocols we are no longer allowed to go on field trips.  We look forward to having both AM/PM kiddos at school together on Friday.

 Tomorrow is library day.  Please return your library book. Friday is AM Friday.  There is no school Friday January 29 as it is a Professional Development day. Monday February 22

We started learning about 2d and 3d shapes. The children were given popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners and had to make as many shapes as they could. We talked about each shape and what it looks like. We played shape games with a partner where one partner drew a shape and the other had to ask yes or no questions to try and figure out what the shape is. For example, "Does it have 4 corners?" "Does it have 3 sides?" etc.  We continued to work on our penguin dioramas.  We had music and gym. Ask your child what they did with Mrs. Coulson and Mr. Der? Wednesday is PINK shirt day.
