Thursday September 17

 Today was a great day at school!

We had library and are very excited to bring a new book home to share.  If your child did not return their library book they were not able to sign out a new book.  Library will be on Wednesday next week as there is no Kindergarten on Thursday.  

Today we worked on our scissor skills.  We learned that our thumbs need to point to the sky and that we need to keep our chicken wings (arms) tucked down as we cut.  We learned that our other hand helps us with the cutting by holding and turning the paper.  We cut out 5 simple shapes (ask your child what shapes) and used the shapes to make a picture.  Please ask your child to tell you about the picture they created with the shapes. 

Please practice scissor skills at home.  Have your child cut up flyers and make a grocery list or cut out items and sort them into different groups (fruit, vegetables, household items, toys, etc)  If you have playdough at home, give your child scissor to cut it up. 

We spent time exploring the playground with Mr. Der in gym.  It is so much fun to play at the park!

Please have your child line up on a yellow X outside the kindergarten doors in the morning.  We will no longer be lining up against the wall, under the windows.  If there are not enough X's, please have your child join the back of a line remembering to keep a safe physical distance from each other.

Please note:  there is no Kindergarten Thursday Sept 24 and Friday Sept 25.  Tomorrow is a PM Friday.  

Tomorrow is PM Kindergarten. Please note the time changes when your child attends school on a Friday.
