Favourite Memories of Kindergarten

Thank you for a fabulous year of Kindergarten! We hope everyone has an amazing summer! Our favourite memories of Kindergarten! Haizel- Playing at the playground. Brandon.-I liked centers. Adalyn- Playing at the playground. Alanna- Reading stories. Brooks- Playing at the ice cream shop. Lyla G- Math. Bennett- Math. I liked the hard parts. Allison- Playing with my friends. Grayson- Playing with my friends. Sadie- Gym time Amelia S- Playing with Leia. Leia- The park Savannah- Snack and center time. Tavi- I liked gym. Kaylie- Bennett did the chicken dance. Phineas- I like gym and snack. Mila- Doing crafts. Luke- Playing with friends in the gym. Anthony- Gym. Lyla M.- Snack and centers. Sammy- Drawing in our visual journals. Ashley- Going on walks. We had such a fun day at sports day outside! It was a perfect day to run around and enjoy the sunshine! We ended off sports day with some freezies.  We brought home all of our items so please check your child's backpack.  We had centers and played at the park. We made outdoor scavenger hunts we will try out on Monday.

This morning was Sports day for the AM kindergarten. We had fun at 7 different stations in the hub and gym. Ask your child about their favourite station. PM kindergarten will have sports day tomorrow. They can wear "rainbow " colours.  We read the story, The Night Before First Grade and talked about how we are feeling about going into Grade 1 and what we are excited most about. We drew pictures in our visual journals. Ask your child how they are feeling and what they are most looking forward to. We watched parts of the EHS talent show. We are amazed by all the talents of the students in the school! We played cooperative games and had centers. AM kindergarten brought all of the school items home today. PM children will bring all their items home on Friday. Monday is the last day of school for our Kindergarten students. AM and PM kindergarten will have their regular school hours.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Beach Day!  We were very excited to see all the fun things you could wear at the beach!  Please remember tomorrow is Rainbow Day!  Please wear as many colors as you can!  We did a memory page in our visual journals. We drew about our favorite memories from Kindergarten. We worked on math addition and subtraction problems.  We played at the park. *** I must apologize to the PM kindergarten parents and students. We were so busy this afternoon that I forgot to take a picture of the children in their beach attire! So sorry about that!!***

 Today was our last day for free choice writing. We are so proud of how far our writers have come! Keep up your writing over the summer months by providing opportunities for your child to engage in writing. Try keeping a memory book, writing grocery lists, postcards to families or friends, making a nature scavenger hunt etc.  We worked on our plasticine insects. We can't wait to share our insects and research booklets with you.  We wrote postcards to other children in the school. We can't wait to receive our postcards later this week. We had centers and gym.  Tomorrow is beach day. No bathing suits please. Sports day will be held on Thursday for AM kindergarten and Friday for PM kindergarten . The kindergarten theme for sports day is dress like a rainbow (wear as many colours as you can)Children will be outside for an hour. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather and sunscreen is applied prior to coming to school. Thank you ! Friday is PM kindergarten.
